It’s June and the summer weather
is still teasing us but it’s steadily getting better and warmer, I’ve got to
tell you that I, for one, love it. Please join me in welcoming a couple of new
members to the Twin City Idlers. Jerry Giles has joined up and Gabriel Ciuca/Automobile
Inc. has also joined the Twin City Idlers. I’ve talked with Jerry a couple of
times and he has a project truck that he is just getting ready to start up for
the first time in many years. Gabriel purchased the old bank property just
north of the Stanwood News building and has set up his car dealership there. If
you’re in the market for a good used car, stop in and see him and check out what
he has going.
If you missed the cruise to
Chelan, you missed out on a Great time. We had 11 cars make the trip and seemed
to dodge the rain drops for the three days we were on the road. Clarke Hamm did
an Awesome job setting everything up including some great places to eat and a
nice garage-car collection tour. We’ve talked about trying to do another one
maybe out to the coast for a couple of days. Not sure when yet as we all have
calendars that are full of different car shows and vacations we will be off to.
The TCI car show planning has
been going very well and it is so good to have as much help and people coming to
those meetings willing to get involved and participate in the organization and
planning to make the TCI show and shine one of the best shows in the area that
everybody wants to come out to. We’ve got an awesome member group and I’m proud
to say that I’m an Idler!!!
I had a reporter from the
Stanwood News call and want to come over to my shop on Thursday and do an
interview with me on my truck build that will be in the S/C News next week. It
will be in conjunction with the TCI car show article in the news. He posted a
picture and a little story that I told him about a question I had a guy ask me
at the Colby show last week.
We have some good cruises planned
for this month including heading over to the Red Horse Drive In, in Ellensburg
on Tuesday the 6th
and Jerry Haugstad is leading the Cruise on the 17th
that I’m not sure
but think he’ll be taking you up to the Edison Inn for lunch. Lots of people,
including Jerry, like the oysters there.
Don’t forget the 4 PM Saturday
afternoon cruise in to the Dairy Queen. There is also a group of us that meet
up for lunch every Friday at the Stanwood Café as well. Show up any time after
11 and we order at 11:30. If you’re out and about, stop by and have lunch or if
you’re a Saturday morning early bird, stop in for Breakfast at the Stanwood
Café, as well. We order at 7 AM and out of there around 8. You are all welcome
to stop at either of these.
Remember, smokem’ if you can, and
it’s ok if you can’t… just keep on looking good as you always do!!! Hope to see
you on the road and be sure to wave when we pass.
All the Best,
