TCI CLUB PICNIC AT THE PROUTY’S

Picnic is August 17th at 12:00 p.m. For those of you who do not know where they live, we will meet at the Viking Village at 11:30 and leave at 11:45 and cruise to their house. Rain or shine. They have a nice BIG shop and we all hang out there if it rains, if not, they have a great big yard! Bring your lawn chairs.
Here is the potluck schedule: A-F SIDE DISHES, G-L CHIPS AND DIP, M-R SALADS, S-V DESSERTS, W-Z WATER AND POP.

MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT FOR AUGUST

To Quote Richard Nixon, “My fellow Americans, I am not a Crook”. Some at the City believe that I have been trying to convince the club that the City wants to get rid of the car show in town. This is simply not true. They did some kind of investigation (without interviewing me) and came to some solid belief that that I am behind some sort of “City Bashing” all around town. This too is simply not true. If you have been to the meetings you have heard just the opposite from me. I have always explained the City’s position and the reasoning for their decisions to the club members at our meetings. I do think that we have been lucky in the past to have the City help us financially by providing “porta-potties” and the trash dumpster. I have said that we should be ready to pay for these things next year and not ask the City for any kind of financial help. The Twin City Idlers car show is great for us and the City and if we can keep it growing in popularity like it has been doing the past few years we will be on some very solid ground financially to help the community like we want to do. I would ask that if you hear of anybody spreading rumors of me or any member of the Twin City Idlers bashing the City please squash it. I hope to see everybody at the club picnic at Keith and Wendy Prouty’s later this month for a really good time. Keep the Wheels Rollin’ and by all means Let the Good Times Roll where ever you go.

Your President, Les Anderson.
